Podium gardens are those built over concrete. Most commonly this type of garden is built over a subterranean car park.

There are different methods of construction. Some are built with soil depth as much as 80cm, others with as little as 30cm. The substrate can also differ.

The most critical time for any podium garden is the installation and the first three years. Establishing plants is absolutely critical as there is only a limited root space for them all to grow into.
